Aston Villa Beat Brighton to Sign Brazilian Midfield Wonderkid Dubbed the ‘Next Neymar’

Aston Villa have reportedly won the race to sign highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Nascimento, a 19-year-old sensation already being labelled by scouts in South America as the “Next Neymar.”

The Premier League club is understood to have reached an agreement worth around £18 million, beating strong competition from Brighton, who had monitored the youngster for more than a year.

Nascimento, who currently plays for Brazilian side Grêmio, has attracted attention with his dazzling dribbling, creativity and eye for goal. His performances in Brazil’s top flight earned him comparisons to Brazilian icon Neymar due to his flair and ability to change games single-handedly.

Sources close to the deal claim Aston Villa manager Unai Emery personally approved the transfer after extensive scouting reports highlighted the midfielder’s enormous potential. Villa believe the teenager can become one of the brightest young talents in European football and see him as a long-term investment for the future.

Brighton had been considered favourites to secure the player’s signature because of their reputation for developing young South American stars. However, Villa’s ambitious project and the opportunity to work under Emery reportedly convinced the player to choose Villa Park instead.

The Brazilian youngster is expected to undergo medical tests in the coming days before signing a five-year contract with the club.

Aston Villa supporters are already excited by the prospect of seeing another Brazilian talent arrive in the Midlands, with many fans on social media describing the deal as a major statement of intent ahead of the new season.

If completed, the signing could become one of the most exciting young acquisitions of the summer transfer window, with Villa hoping their new wonderkid can eventually live up to the enormous “Next Neymar” tag.
