Notes and observations from the Crimson Tide’s sixth day of fall camp on Wednesday:
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama football continued its fall camp on Wednesday morning, starting practice at 9:20 a.m. This session was held at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility instead of the usual practice field to avoid the heat.
Here are BamaCentral’s notes and observations from the practice session:
- For the first time this fall, practice was moved indoors for the viewing period, although the team returned outside for later portions of the session.
- The team practiced in full pads, including helmets, shoulder pads, and football pants, for the first time this fall. Previous sessions had only involved helmets or shells.
- Redshirt freshman Wilkin Formby continued to work with the first team at right tackle. The first-team offensive line from left to right consisted of Kadyn Proctor, Tyler Booker, Parker Brailsford, Jaeden Roberts, and Formby.
- There was no change in the first-team offensive line. The second-team offensive line had Miles McVay at left tackle, replacing Naquil Bertrand from Tuesday.
- Transfer tight end Josh Cuevas from Washington ran routes smoothly and appeared to be the most versatile tight end in the group.
- Keon Sabb had a large wrap around his ankles but still participated in practice.
- Kendrick Law displayed leadership by ensuring a teammate was correctly lined up before a play.
- Wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard was very vocal, emphasizing “finish” on every drill.
- Head coach DeBoer, who had spent much of Tuesday’s viewing period with the defense and defensive backs, focused on the offense during this session. He specifically observed the quarterbacks and provided feedback. When Jalen Milroe didn’t make a clean handoff to Justice Haynes during a drill, DeBoer had them repeat the drill and then discussed it with Milroe for about 30 seconds.
