Breaking: Eagles front office member sets to leave this offseason

Remember when Jeffrey Lurie spoke to the media and bragged about his front office? It appears the Eagles are potentially being raided again.

This seems like a prophecy now, but once upon a time, a statement was made during one of those long Jeffrey Lurie press conferences. It was a statement that we laughed at hysterically.

Who would have thought? The Philadelphia Eagles Chairman and CEO knew what he was talking about. The rest of us were lost.

Perhaps you remember… “Our front office is full of GMs in waiting.” Wait! What?

Now, you’ll have to forgive us. Jeffrey doesn’t meet with the media often. We honestly couldn’t tell you when he said it. We, for the lives of us, can’t remember, but when he said it isn’t as important as what he said. Why? It’s simple actually. We thought he was crazy, but that’s exactly how things have turned out.

While we aren’t always discussing GM vacancies, we have seen several franchises raid Philly’s front office and leadership structure to fill their leadership needs. The New England Patriots are on deck. Once one of the NFL’s model franchises, the Pats are trying to do their best to see what the Birds are cooking.

Eagles director of scouting Brandon Hunt is interviewing for a lead personnel job with the Patriots.

You see the headline. Don’t restart your devices or adjust the resolution on your CPU screens. This is not a drill.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, sources are telling him Eagles director of scouting Brandon Hunt is interviewing on Tuesday, may 7th for the New England Patriots lead personnel job.

A 19-year veteran in the scouting arena, Hunt joined the Eagles as the team’s director of scouting during the 2022 offseason. He enjoyed previous stops with Pittsburgh Steelers (2005–2006) as a front office intern. He then joined the Houston Texans as a pro scout where he served from 2007–2009.

The Steelers then rehired him as a pro scouting coordinator. He even worked at the NCAA level in coaching as a graduate assistant at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2004).

If he were to leave, Philly would be losing a talented member of their front office, but that’s the nature of the business. Scouting and front office work at the professional level are truly nomadic professions.
