Amid escalating tensions between Rafael Devers and the Boston Red Sox, MLB analyst Chris Rose has proposed a surprising trade destination for the star slugger: the Philadelphia Phillies. This suggestion arises from Devers’ recent refusal to switch positions following a season-ending injury to first baseman Triston Casas. Initially moved from third base to designated hitter after the acquisition of Alex Bregman, Devers has now declined to play first base, leading to friction with the team’s management.

Rose highlighted that Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow, who did not oversee Devers’ \$313.5 million extension, might be inclined to trade the player, stating, “He’s a \$300M DH. You know how much I could get him?”

The Phillies, seeking to bolster their lineup, could be a potential landing spot for Devers. Despite the substantial financial commitment, his offensive prowess makes him an attractive asset.

As the trade deadline approaches, the situation remains fluid, with the possibility of Devers being moved if the impasse with the Red Sox persists.
